Charlie competed with a competitor for the favor of the landlady. In the park, each of them fell in love with a different girl, even though Charlie's family already had a male friend. Charlie considered suicide and was dissuaded by a police officer before throwing his girl's friend into the lake. The girls were scared and went to see a movie. Charlie appeared there, flirting with them. Later, both opponents used themselves to replace the girl and attacked the unsuspecting Charlie. In a fight within the audience, Charlie was thrown out of the screen.
