In the UK, Pakistani Yasmin lives two different lives in two different worlds: in her community, she dresses in Muslim clothing, cooks for her father and brothers, and has the traditional behavior of Muslim women. In addition, she had a non consumptive marriage with illegal immigrant Faysal in order to stamp his passport with the British seal and then divorce him. In her work, she changes and dresses like a Westerner, is considered a standard employee, and has a white good friend who likes her. After the 9/11 incident, biases at work and the treatment of ordinary people put her on the side, changing her life.
