Yankele Bride is a mysterious Shoah survivor with scars on his face, and is a matchmaker who specializes in matchmaking for difficult to match clients. A teenage prank had a problem and he went to Arik's apartment at the age of 16. There, he was very frustrated when he found out that Yankele and his father were childhood friends in Romania. Yang Kele was impressed by Arik's ability to deceive, so he hired him as his assistant. Matchmaker is set in the summer of 1968 in Haifa and tells a heartwarming story of love, loss, and survival after World War II through the eyes of a teenage boy. Director Avi Neshere reveals a crucial moment in Israeli history, during which a budding society still struggling with traumatic memories is plagued by the cultural upheavals of the 1960s.
